  • Just upgraded to a 5D Mk1, or more affectionately known as the 5D Classic. Apart from the fact that it’s full frame, it has amazing colour accuracy, and really clean noise-free images. Quite amazing, given that this camera originally came out almost four years ago! 2 years ago

  • Lying on the fake grass at Laselle that reminded me of Berkeley’s perfect grass that never had mud, ants or insects, and where students took naps on between classes. 2 years ago

Honing the Gaze. Saw some really inspiring local photo work online, and I learn again that there’s so much more to creative storytelling, to working with humans and the environment, and to seeing. 2 years ago

  • At The Singapore History Museum. I realise how this format is not ideal for posting photos in a proper order - I’d have to upload them in reverse for it to be effective. Guess I’ll have to try that out sometime. 2 years ago

At the Singapore History Museum. Glad I could spend the afternoon at the museum with Amelia, who has proved to possess a geeky trait that is on par with mine. We are well matched in our interests and attention-spans. 2 years ago

  • At the Singapore History Museum. As I learn from my ethnography class, local historians have been for at least the last decade pushing for a more comprehensive and truthful telling of Singapore’s history, rather than the one that insinuates that Singapore really only began in 1819 with Sir Raffles. Using numerous artefacts and personal narratives, an enlightening alternative history is told. 2 years ago

  • At the Singapore History Museum. The museum has these really spiffy gadgets called Companions, which not only display information that would normally be found as captions, but also provides audio dramatisations of events and extra information given by historians and other experts. Really nifty. 2 years ago

  • At the Singapore History Museum. Apparently, this stone found in Singapore has been dated to be from the 14th century, and no one has been able to translate the inscriptions on it. I suspect aliens. 2 years ago

    That’s so old-school
My last walk-about in my primary school as it was closing down. Shooting plain corridors made me realise how much the built environment functions as cues to memories and experiences. 2 years ago

The ACJC Alumni choir prides itself in maintaining a consistent corporate image over at least the last decade, and as much as I wanted to make them look fresh, it had to be the group shot, the cream suits and the foliage in the background.  2 years ago
